Description

Celebrate Pride Month with “Out in NKY: An LGBTQ+ Oral History Series”

This June, the Kenton County Public Library’s Local History and Genealogy Department invites you to share your story as part of Out in NKY, a new LGBTQ+ oral history project. Each Monday throughout Pride Month, we’ll be recording community voices to build a collection that honors and preserves the lives and memories of LGBTQ+ people in Northern Kentucky.

Your story matters. For too long, LGBTQ+ voices in our region have gone unheard—now is the time to speak up. Share a cherished memory, reflect on your journey, or simply tell us what life has been like for you. Whether it’s a moment or a memoir, your truth belongs in our history. Allies are also welcome to share their experiences with the LGBTQ+ community.

Stop by the Local History and Genealogy Department to participate. For privacy and comfort, recorders can be checked out for 14 days through the library. Also, study rooms are available at select dates and times. Participants may choose to donate their recordings to the library or keep for their own use.

Let’s make history—together.
