While the idea of killing two birds with one stone (or “filling two needs with one deed”) is age-old, and the notion of co-benefits in policymaking has been around for years, multisolving addresses the current mismatch between complex, deeply intertwined societal issues and our siloed approach to them. Multisolving - using a single investment of time or money to solve many problems simultaneously - offers a way to turn cascading crises into converging solutions.
In this event, Dr. Sawin will discuss what multisolving is and how people around the world are achieving results by multisolving. The event will be informal and interactive. After Dr. Sawin lays the groundwork about multisolving we will have time to reflect on multisolving within our own community and what we are collectively learning in the process of multisolving. Finally, we will look ahead to the questions and opportunities that emerge as the practice of multisolving becomes more common, more powerful, and more needed than ever before.
